My husband Mark Higden and I (Peter Edmonston) live in New York City, but we have a small house near the beach in Asbury Park, New Jersey, and it is one of our favorite places to spend time. It’s a shore town that fell into disrepair in the 1970s and has had a recent renaissance.
This is a picture of us on our porch last summer with the rest of our “family” (that’s Charlie on the left, and Buddy on the right). Mark and I have been together for more than 20 years, and we finally got married a year ago after it became legal nationwide. It was a wonderful day.
